About the client
Established by France Rugby Union Manager and Player Phillpe Saint-Andre. PSA has shaken up the youth sports camp market in rugby, delivering a programme of high-performance rugby academies and clinics.
Events
Throughout summer PSA Rugby Academies deliver high-performance rugby development camps for French, Irish & UK venues. Their team of international-level coaches welcomes the best young rugby talent from across the world.
Requirements
In the face of COVID-19 and new government guidelines, PSA had to rethink their youth rugby academies. Removing attendee and staff touch points and social distancing rules were a must if the scheduled events could go ahead.
PSA Academies were looking for a contactless venue solution that would integrate with their current online ticketing provider to offer a seamless on-site experience.
The organisers were looking to implement an easy-to-use cashless payment system that would allow their young players to make contactless transactions. Removing cash handling completely, an option where parents could top up their children’s accounts remotely was required.
PSA wanted to work with us to have full control of managing their venue capacity.
Admitting entry and tracking attendance in real-time was essential to ensure social distancing.
- On site: They wanted to eliminate the use of cash handling amongst children when buying products (due to the current pandemic) and manage venue capacity with access control
- Off site: Offer an option to parents to top up/cash out their children accounts remotely
The Solutions
Cashless system
On arrival, camp attendees were given unique RFID wristbands loaded with user details. On-site purchases could quickly be made with a tap of their wristbands. We were able to reduce the risk of children misplacing physical cash with a secure and controlled system.
Cash handling was completely removed from the summer camps and contactless transactions meant PSA reduced touchpoints between staff and customers.
Access control
Nutickets implemented an access control and entry management system for easy capacity management. PSA Academies staff was able to turn their devices into scanners with our Access Control app to manage attendance to areas, validate entry with just a tap of the wristbands and track capacity straight from their devices.
Our secure contactless solution replaced inefficient cash handling and enabled PSA Academies to successfully manage social distancing to ensure their events adhered to government guidelines.
eWallet
Helping parents manage their children’s spending and balance we enabled access to an eWallet. The eWallet functionality gave parents the freedom to top up their children’s cashless accounts remotely, track transactions and block lost wristbands. At the end of the camp the remaining credits could be withdrawn through our cash-out option.
The Results
Using Nutickets Solutions, PSA Academies were able to successfully run high-performance rugby academy programme’s in Cork, Dublin and Kildare throughout August and October despite COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. Children enjoyed a combination of physiccal development and online learning from PSA’s top team of rugby educators and sports science experts.
