Walking With The Wounded provides vulnerable veterans’ independence through employment. The charity supports ex-servicemen and women who have been physically, mentally or socially disadvantaged by their service and assists them in gaining independence through new long-term careers outside of the military. This includes providing support to homeless veterans and veterans in the Criminal Justice System, areas which are too often ignored. The outcome? Sustainable employment, and independence for them and their families.

Nutickets listened, took time to understand our events and used their event management system to help us improve our registration process, user experience and ability to maximise donations by integrating with Virgin Money Giving.

A key part of Walking With the Wounded’s fundraising strategy is engaging supporters through fundraising events. They needed a centralised system for their events and fundraising platforms as well as a bespoke customer journey for the registration of their fundraising captains and walkers.

WWTW needed a platform which would:

  • increase fundraising targets
  • improve customer journey and fundraisers engagement
  • save management time
  • provide custom data capture for future events
  • immediate access to funds

Solution and benefits

Nutickets has helped to expand the charity’s reach with a new registration system for its Cumbrian Challenge event in the Lake District and is helping take its annual Walking Home For Christmas campaign to the next level by enabling walk “Captains” to create their own walk events linked to the campaign. Both events are directly linked to the charity’s fundraising partner Virgin Money Giving to automatically create fundraising pages which can be shared amongst friends and family, ensuring that Walking With the Wounded raise the most money possible, and receive the maximum return on investment from their events.

The system manages custom notifications before, during, and after the event and sends encouraging emails to participants with a view to maximising the money raised. WWTW also has the ability to manage mass participation registrations and volunteer management in the Nutickets system, as well as a host of other features.

We look forward to working on developing a long-term relationship with WWTW. As they grow as a charity we want to grow with them, increasing their use of the Nutickets platform and adapting to the requirements that will appear on the way.
